High School
Academics, athletics, politics, family, social justice, social life, and church are all parts of teens' lives. Jesus can too easily become another screaming distraction. Our goal is to teach our teens to see Christ as the lens through which they see all the competing spheres of life. High school is where the rubber meets the road, where faith is put to the test, and where sacred meets secular.
High school students meet weekly on Sundays at 11:45am during the school year in their newly refurbished room: The Cellar; as well as once monthly for social events.
This year in High School:
I Timothy: We're willing to bet you've never done Bible study like this. Studying this New Testament epistle together as a group, we'll be combining methods to get the most our of our study. Manuscript study forms the basis. Commentaries help fill in the historical, technical, linguistic, and more pastoral gaps. And BibleMap, Bible Arc, and other online tools give perspective and broaden our study. We're not just interested in you learning this book, but how to do this type of study on your own. You won't want to miss it...this fall.
Saints & Sinners: Who were some really great Christians? Who changed the world? Or, who just struggled to keep the faith? We're taking a look at the lives of a few Christ followers from different centuries. Martin Luther, Amy Carmichael, Johnny Cash, or maybe a few of your heroes. We're taking a look at their legacies...this spring.
